WARREN CO. ANIMAL SHELTER

NOTE: This shelter is closing without enough time being afforded the rescue community. Of the many animals listed on their site, many were not even given that opportunity to be seen by potential adopters or rescuers.

This is an egregious event, withholding the proper opportunity to allow these animals to be placed.

It would be good if the rescue community workers would contact the shelter requesting more time. TOO MANY beautiful pets are being destroyed without enough of an opportunity to be saved. Who is making these decisions at Warren County?

Hi,

Because this has become so very urgent, In an effort to save time, I am sending this to everyone who has asked for information on the animals in the Warren County Shelter.  Pictures of the animals can be viewed at  http://community.webshots.com/user/luv4chows
and also http://hswc.rescuegroups.org

All animals have until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2004.  The pit bulls have until 4:00 today.  Any help you can provide would be absolutely awesome.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you again!!!

This shelter is closing and many animals will be PTS by the end of the week. There are many more not listed on their website.

Here are some of the great dogs we have available:

DIXIE (V-303) - a wonderful Yellow Lab who is l8 months old and was
found in the middle of a road with one of her puppies.  She is SO
gentle, affectionate and loving!

TESSA (V-359) - a two year old Border Collie mix who loves to herd.
She was given up because the household had too many animals.  She is
housebroken, good with children and other dogs, and does not care for
cats.  Tessa is friendly and energetic.  She is a bit lonely at the
shelter since her sister was adopted yesterday.

ROSCO (V-413) is with us because he killed a goat, so he needs a home
with no livestock around.  He is a Lab/Husky mix and is 5 years old.
Rosco is neutered and had been kept outdoors.

ROLLIE (V-270) is an adult male Bird Dog with a nice salt and pepper
coat.  He is very friendly and good natured.  Rollie came to us as a
stray.

CASEY (V-268) is my favorite dog in adoption!  He is a young adult
male Shepherd mix with a black and brown coat pattern.  Casey is so
sweet and gentle and playful and affectionate.  He will make a
wonderful family dog!!

LUCKY (V-192) is a five month old Hound mix who was dumped in
Franklin.  He is brown and black and has an easygoing, engaging
personality.

BLAIR (V-326) is a Brittany Spaniel and has a gorgeous rust and white
color pattern.  He was found stray and is a young adult male.   He is
gentle and has a great disposition!

BELLE (V-316) is a female Beagle, who was found stray.  She is about
3 years old.  Belle is quiet, gentle, and friendly.

SHAWNA (V-201) is a an adult female Beagle mix.  She is shy at first,
but then warms up to visitors at the shelter.  Shawna has a good
disposition and would be a nice family dog.

SAMSON (V-150) is certainly our most unique dog.  He is a
Lab/Ridgeback mix and is an adult male.  Samson is neutered, and his
coat is primarily black with a bit of white.  He is sleek in
appearance, and is shy but friendly.

Please let me know if you are interested in any of these dogs, or
call Williamson County Animal Control directly at (615) 790-5590.

Thanks,

Karen
